Christina Thompson is an Edward R. Murrow award winning journalist who holds a master’s degree in Journalism from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Wake Forest University. She currently works as a network news correspondent in New York, reporting on a variety of topics relevant to the American public. She previously worked for local ABC News affiliates in New Bern, North Carolina and Roanoke and Lynchburg, Virginia. Her reporting has taken her across the globe, including to Paris to cover the European refugee crisis of 2015-2016 and to London to cover the 2016 Rio Olympics.
Christina is very passionate about creating opportunities for women and children. She is the creator of Purposeful Positions, a mentorship program which aids young women in finding and excelling at careers in the broadcast journalism industry. The program has a 100% success rate for placing young women in their first job within three months of their college graduation.
She currently resides in New York City with her rescue dog, Winston.
