What Are Forever Chemicals?

Christina Thompson (Anchor, EarthxNews): You may have heard of PFAs, or “forever chemicals,” but what exactly are they? These resilient, man-made compounds are in many everyday products, but we know very little about them.

We are talking forever chemicals they’re also known as PFAS.

These man-made chemicals are used in a huge number of consumer products from popcorn packaging to non-stained carpets and non-stick cookware, and they’re called “forever chemicals” because they don’t break down.

They’re also pretty concerning for scientists because we don’t know too much about them and how they affect humans and the planet. In preliminary studies that just happened to the impact of forever chemicals, scientists found potential links to these chemicals and cholesterol, cancer, endocrine disruption, metabolism and immune dysfunction, liver disease, asthma, infertility and neurobehavioral issues.

That’s just to name a few!
